BOC Report: Akira Movie 8th Day Total Box Office Collection Worldwide Earnings


Sonakshi Sinha’s hit movie Akira completed its seven days at box office collection as it was released on 16 August 2016, juster after the celebration of Indian Independence Day. The film is packed with action and drama. The film is co-written, directed and produced by AR Murugadoos. The film is a remake of 2011 Tamil film Mouna Guru which features Sonakshi Sinha in the titular role. The film has its worldwide release on 2 September 2016. The soundtrack of the movie is composed by Vishal-Shekhar.

The story of the film focused on a girl named Akira Sharma who was a normal girl like others. One day she made a witness of a crime which involved a group ruthlessly threw acid on a women’s face. Akira helped police to find out the criminal. Criminals attack Akira and left her scared face. Akira’s father realised the value of self-defense and enrols her in a self-defense class.


Akira came out of these hurdles and this story is completely packed of actions. It is also in news that Sonakshi will have some stunt shots in her upcoming film “Force 2”. People are saying that Akira is not that much satisfactory as it was shown in its trailer. The film moved good from the very first day.

The film covered a box office collection of Rs. 5.15 Cr. on its opening day or Friday followed by Rs. 5.30 Cr. on 2nd day or saturday and a collection of Rs. 6.20 Cr. on its first weekend i.e. on Sunday. On its 7th day the film collected a box office collection of nett Rs. 25 Cr. and this figure is of domestic collection. The film grew well as it recieved much positive reviews and it also faced negligiable competition from other releases. But now on its 2nd week the movie will definitely face competition as there are two more big release i.e. Freaky Ali starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Baar Baar Dekho starring Siddharth Malhotra & Katrina Kaif.

The film collected around Rs. 2 Cr. (Approx.) on its seventh day of release. Now on its 8th day the film is expected to collect around Rs. 1.67 Cr. as now there are many more releases thus the number of shows will go limited and audience will get diverted towards new releases.
