Chennai Metro Rail Second Stretch Now Open For Public (From Little Mount To Airport)

If feels immense pleasure to share that the second stretch of Chennai Metro Rail has now opened for public. This second stretch of Metro Rail in Chennai is connecting Little Mount to Airport with a distance of 8.6 km. The track comprises of six stations namely Little Mount, Guindy, Alandur, Nanganallur Road, Meenambakkan and Chennai Airport.

The inauguration of this new achievement was done by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa through video conferencing. Some estimates of travel time and fare charges are in the news like a distance from Koyambedu to Chennai Airport will cost Rs. 50 and will over a distance of 15 km. For this path, one will need to change the metro train at Alandur metro station. Also, the passengers who will come from Chennai Airport will also need to change at Alandur.

At the inauguration, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu flags off the train at Airport Metro station. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa delivers a special address at the inauguration. Also, two female drivers M Hamsaveni and A Nalini moved to steer the first two trains.

The fare for the train ranges between Rs. 10 to Rs. 50 and for the special class it varies from Rs. 20-80.
