Aamir Khan once again proved that he is one of the most dedicated actor of Bollywood as he lived the character of Mahavir Singh Phogat on the screen. Aamir featured as a overweight and middle aged man, who left wresting because of scarcity of money and chose a normal job as money is everyone’s basic need. However, he want to make his son champion and he aimed to gold medal but he become a father of four girls, after some years he become hopeless and tried to forget about his only dream.

There are time when Mahavir think things will never get better and right when he gave up and accepted it, he see the hope, in the form of her daughter. Then he realized that his daughters could also make his dream true, he trained his daughters Geeta (Zaira Wasim) and Babita (Suhani Bhatnagar). Mahavir gives them a strict training and they grown up as an amazing wrestlers.

The elder daughter of Mahavir wins the national championship and moves to Patiala for her further training in National Sports Academy (NSA). Geeta learned new techniques from his new coach and when she come back home to meet her family, her father and sister found her changed. She defeated her father in a face-off at ‘akhada’ in Balali, Harayana. Nitish showed the tiffs between father and daughter very nicely, audience can connect with the emotions and sorrow of father, who is shocked to see his daughter chaged. He advised his second daughter to always remain connected to the roots. However, Babita also wins the nationals and move ahead to NSA, where she catch up her sister. She make Gaata (Fatima) realize that her attitude towards his father is absolutely wrong. Sanya Malhotra don’t have enough to do except cheering her elder daughter.

The movie gives a message of nationalism. There are some scene in movie that would definitely make audience clap and hooting. The movie also represent the angle of feminism as the two Phogat sisters broke the stereotype image of girls who belong to the small district of Haryana.

The wrestling scenes are well shoot and looked so real. Fatima got training for few months to fit in the role and she played her role with full honesty and she look graceful in the character of Geeta. Aparshakti Khurrana added a gags in the movie. Sakshi Tanwar is in a role of Mahavir’s wife.
