Deaf model Nyle DiMarco crowned Dancing with the Stars winner

Differently, abled Deaf model Nyle DiMarco has won the Dancing with the Stars trophy. DiMarco, 27, a professional model partnered Peta Murgatroyd were crowned the season 22 champion of the Dancing Event in the finale episode aired on 24 May 2016.

The popular ABC event lasted for two hours with the actual competition lasting for 30 minutes and the rest of the gala evening was composed of sexy performances by Fifth Harmony and Pitbull.

The second spot was obtained by MMA fighter Paige VanZant, who partnered Mark Ballas. In The third place was Good Morning America meteorologist Ginger Zee and partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

The New Zealand-born dancer completed a cha cha/tango to Calvin Harris hit Summer, and it was good enough to earn them the first spot. The performance was dubbed by Judge Carrie Ann Inaba as the best dance she’s seen in the history of the show. The judge praised his performance in sign language.

Despite having an injured back, Weather anchor Ginger Zee, 35, , managed to impress the judges and came third.

Dubbed as one of the most keenly fought finals, each finalist had to dance one more time to a routine they learned in just 24 hours.

Ginger and Val danced the Argentine tango fused with a foxtrot and scored 27. It was followed by a jive/salsa to Thurston Harris’ Little Bitty Pretty One by Mark and Paige. Mark had just turned 30.They achieved 30.

DiMarco and Peta then danced their slinky cha cha for the second time. The judges were all going gaga and described it as a beautiful way to end the season. Not surprisingly, they earned another perfect 30. A dewy-eyed Peta said it was “an amazing feeling” and that she “owed everything” to Nyle.
