Pete’s Dragon which is basically an American Fantasy adventure drama movie being directed by David Lowery and the screenplay is being written by Lowery himself with the help of Toby Harlbrooks. The movie is about a kid of 5 year old boy, who was on a road-trip with his parents, but their happy journey turns very unfortunate and disasterous when they all ended up in an accident and pete’s parents dies in that accident. He was later chased by a pack of wolves, and while running he strikes to a dragon with a very scary looks, who scares away the wolves.
Pete and Dragon becomes friend and he named him as Elliot, because the name from his favorite character of a book. They live happily for 6 years, when one day he saw so many lumberjacks and forest rangers roaming in the jungle and finding something near his living place. He then later gets spotted by Natalie, when he accidentally hurts herself while searching for something. The later story is about how Natalie try to find the true identity of Pete and his history. The story gets a very happy ending when Grace and Jack marries to each-other and adopted Pete, Elliot was now with his community of dragons without any problems from the Human side. The casting includes Bryce Dallas Howard as Grace Meacham, a forest ranger and also Jack’s wife, Oakes Fegley as Pete, a young orphan who lives in the forest and whose only friend and protector is Elliott the Dragon, Wes Bentley as Jack, a lumber mill owner, Natalie’s father, Gavin’s brother and Grace’s husband, Karl Urban as Gavin, a hunter who is Jack’s brother and Natalie’s uncle, Oona Laurence as Natalie, Jack’s daughter and Gavin’s niece.
The movie was released on August 14, 2016 and Pete’s Dragon has totally grossed around $21.5 million in North America and $5.1 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $26.6 million, against a great budget of $65 million.
In the United States and Canada, Pete’s Dragon opened on August 12, 2016, across 3,702 theaters, of which 2,884 were in 3D and 150 were premium large-format screens, as well as 57 D-Box and 16 Dolby Cinema sites.The movie is expected to gross almost $20–25 million in its opening weekend. The movie has got great response from the Audience and critics too an amazing response.
