With Barcelona he has won eight La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles, as well as four Copas del Rey. A unstoppable goalscorer, Messi holds the records for most goals scored in La Liga, a La Liga season (50), a calendar year (91), a single season (73) and many more than this.

recently a news has come telling that His father named as Jorge Messi has been given a jail term for defrauding Spain an amount of €4.1m (£3.5m; $4.5m) which has happened between the term of 2007 and 2009.

They also face millions of euros in fines for using tax havens in Belize and Uruguay which was used to conceal earnings from the image rights. However, neither man is expected to be sentenced and to go and have any time in jail.

The Court of Catalonia on Wednesday found that the Messis had evaded tax on Lionel’s image rights, with more than €4m owed in back payments. But because the court’s sentence was less than two years and neither Messi has a criminal record, neither will be sent to prison. Prosecutors had alleged that tax havens in Belize and Uruguay were used to conceal earnings from image rights. But Messi said he  didn’t knew exactly about knew nothing” about his financial affairs.

While countering to this case, Messi’s lawyers said he never examined a series of contracts between 2007 and 2009 which dealt with the income from image rights with companies including Adidas, Pepsi-Cola, Danone, Procter and Gamble, Banco Sabadell and the Kuwait Food Company.

Under the Spanish system, prison terms under two years can be served under probation. The footballer and his father were found guilty of three counts of tax fraud in Wednesday’s ruling by the court in Barcelona. He was totally fined around €2m and his father €1.5m.
