Zika Virus is known as ZIKV which comes in virus family Flaviviridae. Zika Virus is making it reach among population with its host as Aedes Mosquitoes. Its name Zika Virus came from Zika Forest of Uganda, where the virus was first isolated in year 1947. When it comes on discussion that how different Zika virus is from other disease causing mosquitoe like Dengue causing, and others Zika is somewhere related with Dengue, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis and West Nile Viruses.
Till date the virus is spreading with a high rate across the map of globe. Zika Virus causes infection called as Zika Fever or Zika Virus disease. The true extent of the vector is still unknown. Zika has been detected in many more species of Aedes. Zika can also get trasmitted from a man to his sexual partner. And this has been detected or observed in many countries like New Zealand, United States and others.
Zika Virus can also effect with Blood Transfusion from an infected one to a healthy one.
Now let’s come and talk about Zika Fever. It is also known as Zika Virus Disease which is caused by Zika Virus. In most of the cases there are no symptoms of this but when symptoms will be there it will be like mild Dengue fever. Its symptoms are fever, red eyes, joint pain, headache and a maculopapular rash. Its symptoms generally lasts to around seven days. Zika Virus detection can be done with the help of blood sample, saliva sample or can also be detected by Urine sample.
Prevention For Zika Fever is to decrease the mosquitoe bites in the ares where the disease occurs and proper use of contraceptive devices like condoms and others. One can also use insect repellent, also can cover much portion of their body with clothes, can avoid to stand near standing waterand others. Hospitalisation is rarely necessary for Zika Fever victim. Pregnant women are advised to stay away from areas where mosquitoes reproduces.
