India and West Indies will take on one another at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 31 March 2016 from 7 PM and a lot will be at stake especially for the Caribbean, who had a harrowing season with disputes galore between players and the West Indian Board.
Who can forget the scene when the West Indian team after the fourth ODI against India in 2014, pulled out en masse after a bitter remuneration dispute with its board. It resulted in a prolonged battle with the country’s board and cricket being the worst sufferer.
However all this seems behind, and the team is raring to go for its rendezvous with the hosts. When Darren Sammy was asked to comment on the blitzkrieg called Virat Kohli, he quipped back “Have you ever heard of Chris Gayle?”
India will be effecting a change to replace an injured Yuvraj Singh, who had twisted his ankle in the last match against Australians. The hosts will be desirous to keep with their winning streak despite the loss of Yuvraj Singh.

The loss of Yuvraj Singh will be sorely felt, and this was confirmed by India Team Director Ravi Shastri. The Australian were off to a blistering start and hammered 54 of just 26 balls before the brakes were applied by Yuvraj Singh, who with 1-19 off his three tidy over had stopped the run rout. Yuvraaj sustained an injury while batting and was dismissed for 21.
He managed to steady the Indian innings after some initial hiccups, and the rest was left to the Indian captain and Virat Kohli, who steered the Indian victory.
West Indian Captain Sammy was happy to go to the semi-finals as underdogs but said that his team is ready for the challenge. He reminded of the adage of David and Goliath and said that ultimately David won.
