Jimmy Shergill Starrer Movie “Shorgul” Faces Bans & Threats In India Affecting Box Office Collection Too


Shorgul, one of the political thriller movie of the year 2016, which is directed by the most amazing and most experienced director Pranav Kumar Singh and Jitendra Tiwari who always give his best for the screenplay and to make the characters comes in their real way.
The film was produced by 24 FPS film Pvt Ltd. In the very starting it was titled as Zainab but later on it became SHORGUL. The film is featuring very amazing stars Jimmy Shergill, Suha Gezen, Ashutosh Rana, Narendra Jha, Anirudh Daveand and Sanjay Suriin in their leading roles.


As the trailer of the film was released a few days back before the release of the film on YouTube and Indian Television on 26 May 2016, which creates an amazing excitement among the viewers and make them attracted towards the story of the movie and the acting done by the characters in the movie.

Shorgul was released on 1st July 2016 on the box office and did a great job on the big screens but collected a mixed negative response from the audience. The story of the film is based on the cute friendship between a Hindu boy Anirudh Dave who is playing a character named Raghu and a Muslim girl Suha Gezen who is playing a role named Zainab rapidly puts into a political field.

Many of the scenes were shot in Lucknow by the team of Shorgul and the film has been referred to release on 24th June 2016. some of the scenes from the film of Godhra and cow references have been muted by CBFC as per the rules of CBFC, they didn’t find them good and cut from the film.
Film has a running time of 2 hours and 22 minutes for the big screens, Basically the film was based on the Muzzafarnagar’s case which was held in 2013s, the makers of the film want to bring something new which relates the love story of a couple who are from different religion and was overcome by the politics.
Jimmy Shergill is playing a character of a corrupt politician named Om Prakash, who always takes the advantages of the authority which are given to him by the government. Shorgul goes with 2.5 star rating /5.0 stars, on the first day of its release it collects approx Rs. 0.8 Cr. from box office and its the 11th day of its released and it collects approx Rs. 17.22 cr. worldwide, and have an average collections from box office.
