M6 And M6 Plus With Massive Batteries Launched By Gionee

At an event in Beijing on 26 July, Gionee announced the launch of M6 and M6 plus. Both the phones were said to be supporting a data encryption chip which offers extra security for the content and communication of user’s, but this chip will only be available in its China Variants. The global variants will have to make do the security concerns with just the Fingerprint Sensor. Gionee M6 will be available from August 6, while the other variant Gionee M6 plus will be available from August 13 in the Chinese Market.

The biggest highlight of the both smartphones is the data encryption chip embbeded in them. This protects user from Malware, while also securing IM communication by making it difficult to decrypt it. The Gionee M6 is priced at CNY 2,699 (Rs. 27,200 approx) for its 64GB variant, and CNY 2,899 (Rs. 29,200 approx) for its 128GB storage variant. The Gionee M6 plus 64GB storage variant will be priced at CNY 2,999 (Rs. 30,200approx), and 128GB variant at CNY 3,199 (Rs. 32,200 approx). Champagne Gold and Mocha Gold will be the two colors available in both the smartphones.

Gionee M6 supports dual-SIM dual Standby and runs on Android Marshmallow based – Amigo 3.5 OS. The smartphone runs on a 64-bit 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor paired with 4GB RAM. It features a 5.5 inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Amoled display and 2.5 D curved glass protection. M6 is available in 64GB and 128GB variants which can be further expanded upto 128GB by microSD slot. It features a 8-megapixel Front Camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. M6 is powered by a huge 5000mAh battery which has a standby time of 794 hours (33days). It also supports fast charging tech, the company claims it can fully charge in almost two hours, it also has a fingerprint scanner in the home button and connectivity options contain 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, WLAN, USB OTG, and Micro-USB port. The dimensions measure at 152.3×75.3x 8.2mm and it weighs around 180 grams.

Gionee M6 plus is the larger variant with some changes from M6 like the 6 inch display, 16-megapixel rear camera with double LED flash. The front camera remains the same as M6 for 8-megapixel and M6 plus is powered by 6,020 mAh battery, dimensions  measure at 160.5×80.6×8.2mm, and the weight of the Gionee M6 Plus is at 215 grams. Main highlight of both the devices is the huge punch they pack with such big batteries which can provide long video calling and standby durations.
