The recent flick of Ashutosh Gowariker Mohenjo Daro which was released on 12th August is now running in its third week. The film faced many up and downs in his two weeks journey. Mohenjo Daro was the first film which displayed the beauty and the history behind the Indus Valley Civilisation. M0vie was released with another most awaited film Rustom which affected the film from the first day of release. IF we talk about the cast of the film then movie starred the dance icon of the film Industry Hrithik Roshan in the main lead role. Hrithik Roshan has last seen in his Superhit film Bang Bang two years ago. The fans of Hrithik were quite curious about the film but this time, he failed to impress the audience. The story line of the film was up to the mark as it took almost three years of research to complete the story.
Mohenjo Daro was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. For the female lead, role movie featured a new face in the Bollywood industry Pooja Hegde. The chemistry between Hrithik and Pooja is one of the best parts of the film. The film was made with a budget of 120 Cr which and at the end of the second week it failed its half of budget amount. The first week of the film was even better but in the second-week movie lost almost 50% of its occupancy rate.
The first half of the film was not up to the mark as it was quite boring but the second part of the film was much better than the first one. The main reason of the downhill of the film was the climax of the film because the graphics which are used were average. In the first week movie managed to attract people and at the end of the first week movie had a total collection of 52.18 Cr at the domestic box office.
The movie lost it all hold over the audience in the second week as movie start facing low occupancy and at the end of the second week movie had an average collection of 6.24 Cr . Mohenjo Daro performed much better at the overseas box office as compared to the Indian cinemas. After spending two weeks at the overseas box office movie captured a collection of more than 25 Cr.
Now the movie is running in its 3rd week. The 3rd weekend of the film was worse, because of the latest release A Flying Jatt movie faced low occupancy of 25% and at the end of the 3rd-weekend movie had a collection of 2.63 Cr only.
