The recent release of Hrithik Roshan Mohenjo Daro which was released on 12th August 2016, has  faced a huge downhill in its collection as well as in the occupancy rate. The film is the first movie which has made on the history and culture of Mohenjo Daro city in Indus Valley Civilization. In the initials days of the film, the makers were quite sure for the film that it will create a history and instead making of history Mohenjo Daro has become the complete disaster for the investors. The movie was made in a budget of 120 Cr and at the end of its third week at the box office movie has collected half of its budget amount at the domestic box office. Ashutosh Gowariker is known for his talent and his work which he has done in his previous historical films like Lagaan and Jodha Akbar and Lagaan. This time, Ashutosh has failed to impress the audience as per the expectations of the fans. However, Mohenjo Daro has completed its 3rd week at the box office and now entered in its 4th week.

Mohenjo-Daro was the comeback movie of Hrithik Roshan which was expected to do a lot of buzz as his last movie was released two years ago bang Bang which was a super hit. The fans of Hrithik expecting a lot from the movie but because of the tough competition of Rustom and low hype of the film,Mohenjo Daro failed to attract the audience. The film was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. The story of the film is full depend on the Indus Valley Civilization and it took almost three years of Ashutosh to research on the Mohenjo Daro city and to complete the story of the film.

The first week of the film was full of excitement as movie attracted a good number of audience in the starting days and at the end of the first-week movie captured a huge collection of 52.18 Cr. The main problem was start from the second week when movie lost it’s more than half of its budget amount and faced a huge downfall in the occupancy rate and collection of the film. The only eye-catching part of the film was the chemistry between Hrithik and the new face of industry Pooja Hegde. The way they played their character was the best part of the film.

The second week of the movie was full of down hope as film faced low occupancy even in the second weekend. At the end of the 2nd-week movie earned an average collection of 6.24 Cr. Now the film has entered in its third-week movie faced huge downfall and at the end, it captured a total collection of 4.28 Cr. Mohenjo Daro has performed well in the overseas countries as compared to the Indian cinemas.
