The most awaited movies which hit the screens two weeks ago Mohenjo Daro and Rustom. In the clash of two most awaited movies, Rustom has beat the Mohenjo Daro in the race of the collection report. The both movies started their box office collection with a huge buzz. Both movies are opposite to each other as Rustom is the crime mystery film and Mohenjo Daro is a historical action romantic film.
Mohenjo Daro was the first film which is made on the Mohenjo Daro city of Indus Valley Civilisation. The movie was a huge budget film as it was made in a budget of 120 Cr. The first week of the film was full of buzz and excitement and collected a collection of 54.38 Cr. It took almost three years to complete the story of the film. The film is directed and penned by Ashutosh Gowariker who has given many hit movies like Lagaan and Jodha Akbar. Mohenjo Daro starred Hrithik Roshan and a new face in the Bollywood industry Pooja Hegde. After a break of two years Hrithik came back with a mind blowing movie but because of the tough competition of Rustom movie faced low occupancy rate in its box office journey.
The second week of the film was even worst as it lost its all hold over the audience and at the end of the second week had a collection of 6.73 Cr in hand only. The movie has failed to even have its budget amount back. The movie showed a good business report at the overseas box office and at the end of the two-week run movie targeted a collection of 26.59 Cr at the overseas box office.
Rustom is the third film of the Akshay Kumar this year, his previous two movies were Housefull 3 and Airlift. Rustom was penned by Vipul K Sharma who has presented the story or we can say the incident of Naval Officer K. M Nanavati. The story is all about how a reputed naval Officer killed his wife’s boyfriend. The reason of the end of Jury System is totally based on this film. As per the expectations of the makers, the movie has done a great business worldwide. With Akshay, Ilena D’Cruz , Esha Gupta, and Arjan Bajwa saw in the film as the main lead cast of the movie Rustom. Rustom has entered in the 100 Cr club and still going with huge hype. The movie was made on a budget of 50 Cr and now the movie has collected a collection of more than 180 Cr worldwide and as per the response of the audience, it will very soon cross the collection of 200 Cr.
No doubt Rustom has done a way better business than Mohenjo Daro. As per the response of the audience, Mohenjo Daro will very soon be out of the cinema halls and if we talk about Rustom then it might cross the income of 250 Cr lifetime.
