On Blasphemy Rights Day 30th September, Know About Your Rights & Limits Considering Referendum


Today the world will go to have the International Blasphemy day. The day is known for encouraging individuals and groups to openly express the criticism of religion and Blasphemy Law, The day was basically started and founded in 2009 by the center for inquiry.

The starting for this idea comes from a student who contacted the Center for Inquiry which was in Amherst, New York to express and give this idea, later the idea after a brief explanation and definition got the approval from the CFI and since then it was supported till now. Ronald Lindsay, the president and CEO of the Center for Inquiry, said in her statement that regarding Blasphemy Day. We think and suggest that religious beliefs should be subject to examination and criticism just as political beliefs are, but we have a taboo on every religion, and all the topics should be taken ver seriously  and all the news is being given by her in an interview with CNN.

blasphemy-day-2The very first Blasphemy Day counted art exhibit in Washington D.C. and a free speech festival in Los Angeles. The day sometimes gets very much offended while the Toronto Co-ordinator has confirmed that there are no intentions to hurt the sentiments of people, or any intention to hurt the feelings or sentiments through our debate or dialogue to which people gets offended, and there should not be any human right to be offended through this.

The day is not welcomed everywhere and there are certain rules and punishments for All this, just like Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia is punishable by death for blasphemy.

The Blasphemy day is celebrated on 30th September to coincide with the anniversary of the publication of satirical drawing of prophet Muhammad in one of Denmark’s Newspaper which results in serious consequences and stiff situations for the people related to the paper. Although the controversy later got ended by both sides. But these incidents raise serious questions on this Blasphemy day.
