Pokemon Go Tips & Tricks From The Man Who Caught Them All

The craze of Pokemon Go an Augmented Reality game is not going anywhere sson. It’s the buzz of the town, everyone is talking about it, everyone is playing it, people are also getting into accidents and trouble due to the game.

But that is all old news, new hype around the game is created by a man named Nick Johnson from brooklyn, who claims to be the first man to have ‘catch em all’. He claims to to have caught all of the 142 Pokemon that are available in the U.S. The original game has 151 Pokemon, but in the United States there are apparently only 142. It’s just been 2 weeks since the game launched and Johnson was playing the game every single evening after work.

He would walk an average of eight miles a day, in order to achieve this incredible goal in such a short time. The best spot in New York City for catching Pokemon are Battery Park and Grand Army Plaza in Central Park and on any given night, there are 300 or so people gathered there for Pokemon hunting purposes, staying “well until the morning” states Johnson. He also adds “Buy some good walking shoes” as a tip for would-be Pokemon masters. Certain other tips that he gave to his fellow Pokemon masters will include:

1. To walk in a straight line while trying to hatch eggs, as the game measures distance periodically by checking in on your distance between where you were versus where you are.

2. If you’re trying to level up quickly, you should focus on common Pokemon because they only require 12or 25 candy to eveolve versus the 50 or more candy it takes for rarer, more powerful beasts.

3. If you plan to spend real money on Pokemon Go, egg incubators are the best bang for your buck, working out to about 33 cents per egg hatched.

4. But above all else, the key is to work with other people. “There aren’t many social features built in, but its a very social game. If you can not find a specific Pokemon, ask your fellow trainers! They’re usually happy to help.”

The road to Pokemon mastery was certainly not without adventure. Johnson said the craziest thing he did to catch pne was order an Uber to drive him around Jersey City after another player tipped him off to an abundance of Dratini, a kind of Pokemon. “I had the driver drive me around for a little bit until I found it. Luckily it didn’t take me long, so it wasn’t too big of an Uber bill,” he said with a laugh.

Johnson is offered by Marriott Rewards to partner him for the rest of his international journey tp catch the last remaining Pokemon, that are available only in specific countries. Johnson caught all the Pokemon on the list except for the ones that are either not available yet, or which are not available in the U.S.
