The crime mystery film Rustom has gathered a huge applause from the audience as well as from critics. The film was released on 12th August 2016 with another big budget film Mohenjo Daro of Hrithik Roshan but Rustom does not get affected by that and started its box office journey with a huge hype at the box office. The film featured some most talented artist of the industry like Akshay Kumar,Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa in the main lead roles of the film. Akshay has become the highest earned actor who has earned a total collection of 3000 Cr till now. Rustom is the third film of the Akshay this year. The previous two movies of Akshay has crossed the collection of 100 Cr and this will be the third film of Akshay to earn a collection of more than 100 Cr. The film Rustom has started its box office journey with a huge collection of 14.11 Cr which was a great start.
The movie was made on a budget of 50 Cr and at the end of the first-weekend, the movie earned its budget amount with positive comments of the audience. The superhit film was directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and penned by Vipul K Rawal who is himself an ex-navy officer. The story of the film is based on the real incidents took place in K.M. Nanavati’s life. The film was produced by the huge list of investors like Neeraj Pandey, Aruna Bhatia, Nittin Keni, Akash Chawla, Bhaumik Gondaliya, Ishwar Kapoor and Shital Bhatia under the banner of Zee Studio, Kriraj Entertainment, Cape Of Good Films and Plan C Studios.
The film showed the era of 1950’s and the warships which are used in the film are the same warships which are used in the era of 1950’s Now the movie has just completed its second week at the box office successfully with the positive mouth of the audience and still going very well at the box office. This is for the first time for Akshay Kumar that his crime mystery film has to cross the collection of 100 Cr. In two weeks of run, the movie captured a huge collection of more than 110 Cr at the domestic box office. The drop in the occupancy rate of the film started from the end of the second weekend when movie lost it’s 25% of its occupancy rate. The film has grossed a collection around 159.60 Cr at the domestic box office.
Not only in India but film Rustom has also impressed the overseas audience and collected a huge collection of 35 Cr at the overseas box office in just 2 weeks of the run. Today is the 15th day of the film today movie faced a low occupancy rate because of the latest film released A Flying Jatt which affected the occupancy rate of the film in a huge manner. As per our sources movie has collected an income of 1.26 Cr Approx today.
