FALLBROOK, California – A small plane crashed on Interstate 15 on Saturday and struck a car, injuring five others and killing a women in the car, according to authorities.
The pilot survived along with four others in the vehicle, according to news reports.
The single-engine plane was having a problems with its engine, one witness told the police that he didn’t the plane’s engine as it flew overhead, The Press-Enterprise reported.
The car into which the plane struck was a black Nissan Altima sedan. The driver stopped the car on the shoulder in San Diego County near Fallbrook to synchronize the Bluetooth device on his phone.
Dennis Hogge, 62, was the pilot, who was flying with a 50-year-old woman who wasn’t immediately named. Both suffered major injuries.
