Ganesh Chaturthi which is known to mark one of the biggest festivities in the whole India and the celebration is even spread to the world while the moths sacred and devoted god who is also known as the Elephant-Headed GOD, Ganesha.
The Day is made as the very auspicious day which is celebrated to pray to the god so that all the upcoming new activity which is started will be fulfilled very perfectly without any obstacles or problems. The day is celebrated on the fourth day of the first fortnight which is the (Shukla Chaturthi) in the month of the Bhaadrapada according to the Hindu calendar. The festivities lasted for ten days and ends on the fourteenth day of the fortnight, which is the (Anant Chaturdashi).
The festival has a very impressive and amazing connection to the mankind and while everyone celebrates it with the whole family the festival also spreads brotherhood and mutual affection among the whole people and shows a very great feeling throughout the whole period of 10 days. The celebration of these festivities involves some of the basic festivities and rituals like installing clay idols of Shri Ganesh in public places or in the house which is known to be as the ‘temporary shrines’ which is made for those people who wants to have a group workshop.
The idol is praised for the whole 10 days and then it is immersed in a very large body of water such as sea, river or a big lake. While tea making of clay makes sure the idol didn’t become a problem for the environmental and gets easily dissolved in the water with time.
The celebration takes place in Maharashtra or Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is at the grandest level and while other countries celebrate it in many ways the tradition and rituals remain the same for everyone. The primary sweets which are being distributed in this festival is the ‘Modak’ which is basically a dumpling made from the rice or wheat flour and is being stuffed with grated coconut, jaggery, dried fruits and other dry fruits and is being steamed or fired and the other is the Karanji which is similar to the model in composition and taste but the taste is quite different to it.
The day marks a very big message which is being given to the new and upcoming generations by the elders or is being given to them by their ancestors. The whole celebration takes place to make the most out of this word which is becoming very greedy and is not going on the correct and true path, so every year Ganpati Bappa comes and tells us the real meaning of lie and shows the divine path towards the god and while achieving the greatest peace of inner soul.
