On Thursday, all five living former presidents of United State come together to support the Hurricane Harvey victims. In order to help Harvey victims, the ex-U.S. presidents launch an appeal. They joined forces to raise money and to begin a hurricane recovery effort in Texas where Hurricane Harvey has done great destruction.
“One American Appeal” campaign started with presidents’ public service announcement on Thursday during the very first N.F.L. game of this season. The former U.S. President George W. Bush said in video, “People are hurting down here” He added, “but as one Texan put it, ‘We’ve got more love in Texas than water.’”
The joint appeal of U.S. former presidents shows unity in the politics of United State. On the other hand, President Donald Trump also show his support to “One American Appeal” campaign, he tweeted on Thursday night, “We will confront ANY challenge, no matter how strong the winds or high the water.” Trump said on Twitter, “I’m proud to stand with Presidents for #OneAmericaAppeal.”
“One American Appeal” begins by former U.S. presidents Barack Obama, George Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. The campaign is focused on raising fund for Hurricane Harvey victims that dumped more than 50 inches rain in Texas.
The campaign is started to support and help those people who hurt by the Hurricane Harvey, the campaign is expected to expand to support the Irma victims. The Category 5 hurricane has become a headache for all who lives in the Caribbean, the hurricane is forecast to move towards South Florida and then expected to hit Georgia, which is the resident of former President Jimmy Carter.
All five U.S. former presidents come together to support and raise fund for victims of natural disaster. “One Appeal America” fund will go to a restricted account which is created by Presidential Library Foundation of George H. W. Bush.
