What would happen if top Indian Batsman e.g. Virat Kohli is kidnapped just before a crucial India- Pakistan match?
Dhishoom is the story of Viraj Sharma (Saqib Saleem), evidently modeled on Virat Kohli, and how he is rescued by cops Kabir (John) and Junaid (Varun).
The first rushes of the action comedy flick was released on Wednesday. The film has many surprises with a generous dose of action and comedy and also features after a very long time Akshaye Khanna.
Khanna plays a villain in this comedy thriller. Jacqueline Fernandez plays out a spy in the flick though it is not clear if she plays an RAW or and ISI agent. The film also stars Nargis Fakhri.
India’s top batsman Viraj is kidnapped by a Bookie played by Akshaye Khanna 36 hours before a crucial India-Pakistan fixture in UAE.

It has to be UAE because no match can take place in Pakistan for obvious reasons and Dubai is also a hot bed of the underworld. The director has done his homework well.

The bookie threatens to kill Viraj if the match is canceled because he has bet millions on the game.
The External Affairs Minister asks special task force officer Kabir played by John Abraham, to rescue Viraj with help from a local cop in the Emirates Junaid played by Varun Dhawan. The duo is ably complimented by a sexy spy Ishika played by Jacqueline Fernandez
The story seems a little far fetched, but the lacunae are amply filled by John and Varun’s funny punchlines and comradeship.
Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakhri have guest appearances in a cameo role. They have been featured fleetingly in the trailer also.
Dhisoom is directed by Rohit Dhawan, who incidentally is Varun Dhawan’s brother. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and will hit the screens on July 29 this year.
