Why Is Oil Company Hilcorp Energy Giving $100000 Bonus To All Employees?

Despite a struggling situation in the oil and gas sector, Hilcorp Energy Company announced that all of its 1,381 employees will get $100,000 as a year-end bonus.

The company is happy with its performance and growth during the year, calling it a positive year. In 2015, Hilcorp Energy was able to double its production to more than 150,000 barrels per day, and as a result, it doubled the bonus to $100,000, compared to five years ago, when the company employees the choice of $35,000 cash or $50,000 towards a new car, Forbes reported.

Owned by billionaire Jeffery Hildebrand, Hilcorp Energy is a privately-held oil and natural gas exploration company based in Houston, Texas.

“It’s just a true gift, and I think myself, along with everyone, is not going to give less than 100 percent each day,” receptionist Amanda Thompson told Fox 4 News.

Hildebrand believes that these bonuses keep employees motivated.

Hildebrand founded Hilcorp Energy in 1989. Prior to that, he worked as a petroleum engineer at ExxonMobil.
